POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Human Resources Associate to join our HR team. In this role, you will provide a variety of HR support services and play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of our department. You will support employees, managers, and the public by delivering excellent service and accurate information across all areas of Human Resources, including recruitment, compensation and benefits, onboarding, and records management.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Respond to inquiries from employees, managers, and the public regarding employment opportunities, HR policies, collective agreements, and general HR functions.
- Support recruitment processes by creating job postings, coordinating interviews, preparing offer letters, and compiling onboarding documentation.
- Administer employee benefits and pension enrolments, process changes, and liaise with benefit providers.
- Assist with the development of job descriptions and provide input on system or process improvements.
- Provide confidential administrative support to the HR leadership team, including preparing correspondence, reports, presentation materials, and spreadsheets.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with privacy and data protection regulations.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for employees.
- Maintain and update internal databases and spreadsheets and generate reports as needed.
- Conduct research and compile data to support HR projects, programs, and decision-making.
- Contribute to the review and improvement of HR processes and participate in various HR initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a human resources support or administrative role.
- Knowledge of HR functions, employment legislation, and collective agreements.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems is an asset.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Detail-oriented with strong grammar, editing, and data accuracy skills.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a temporary Full-Time position for approximately two years. This position may be extended or shortened based on changing business requirements.
